- Be Familiar with your recipe and have your ingredients prepared before you put them together into your culinary creation.
- Preheat the oven while preparing your pizza, especially if you are using a pizza stone which needs 20 minutes to get hot.
- Stock up on herbs and spices! Often it’s the little things that separate the good pizza from the great pizza.
- Sprinkling a little garlic powder over the pizza before it goes in the oven makes a drastic change in how it will taste.
- Try sprinkling some light dried basil on a pizza when it comes out of the oven, fresh basil goes on before the pizza is cooked.
- Put a very light base of mozzarella on the sauce before you add any topping, to help hold them in place.
- There is a reason why restaurants will advertise that they use a stone or brick oven to cook there pizzas. When you cook on a stone surface it helps the crust cook evenly and thoroughly. Pizza stones are not that expensive, and are worth buying if you plan on making pizzas regularly.
