Pesto Pizza Sauce
For a light and zesty pizza...
Total Prep / Cook Time: 10-20 minutes
Level of Difficulty: Intermediate.
Ingredients:
1/2 Cup Pine Nuts
4 Cups Fresh Basil (Whole Leaf, Packed Down)
1 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
4 Cloves Garlic, Whole
1/4 Cup Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese
Directions:
In a food processor or blender add the pine nuts and garlic and blend until a paste is formed.
Add the basil leaves, olive oil, and Romano cheese and blend.
NOTE: It is important to make sure that you do not over-blend the mixture. You want the final product to have substance.
Season with salt and pepper to taste and the sauce is complete.
